Hi, can't see any options to crop or rotate a video clip? is this possible yet or am i overlooking something? I recorded video using my photocamera but doesn't automatically rotate video if taken 'portrait' orientation instead of its default 'landscape' orientation.

Adapter has a cropping/trimming feature in the Advanced Output Settings panel on the right (click on the gear to see it) where you can choose any segment of the video or audio you want and trim the beginning or end, but it does not offer a way to rotate the video. You would need to find a different app to do the rotation to get the proper orientation.

Ability to rotate videos is a must nowadays in my opinion. So many videos are shot vertically by smartphone users etc. It is the only feature that is missing in Adapter.

Hello, I was about to download the Adapter but I can't use it without an ability to rotate output video. I believe most users who manages family video collection do the following:
1. Compress video to reduce file size (MP4 container, H264 codec)
2. Rotate output video as many of them are made in portrait orientation (smartphones age)
3. Preserve original capture time and file creation time (family videos capture events in your life, any event's description starts with date.)

It seems to be impossible to find simple not expensive tool that does these three items...

You can rotate the video using transpose or rotate command line parameters in the bottom right.

-vf transpose=5

Will rotate by 180º. Other values will rotate differently.

-vf transpose=1 gives a proper 90 degree rotation
